One Direction are a British-Irish boy band formed in London in 2010, consisting of members Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. They signed to Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records after being formed and placing third in the seventh series of British television music competition The X Factor. They later signed in North America to Columbia Records.

The guys of One Direction shared with their fans on Thursday (August 23) that they will follow up their massive debut album, Up All Night, with their spankin' new single, "Live While We're Young." The song will drop in October, ahead of their sophomore album release, set to hit shelves in November.


The single, "Live Like We're Young," saw the fivesome working with songwriters Savan Kotecha, Rami Yacoub and Carl Falk again. The team also worked with them on their debut and is responsible for the hits "One Thing" and "What Makes You Beautiful." The new song has been described as "an immediate, energy-packed song mixing rock undertones with smooth harmonies, about living for the moment."

Harry Styles and the rest of the One Direction boys drew admiring glances yesterday, as the band made a splash shooting scenes for their new music video.
Crashing about in a paddling pool with a bevy of beautiful girls, the boys were clearly in the party mood as they filmed the video for new single Live While We’re Young.
Showing off their toned and fit torsos through their soaked t-shirts, Harry and his bandmates - Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik – looked like they were having a great time, as they jumped about on bales of hay and trampolines, and played with inflatable balls and bananas.
And some of the boys even stripped right down, ripping off their tops, despite the rather chilly temperatures.
Making reference to the disappointing summer weather, Harry Styles wrote on his official Twitter page: “Great day shooting for the music video for 'Live While We're Young' bit nippy…”
He later added: “Day two finished, and that's the video for 'Live While We're Young' done. Amazing crew, amazing people involved. Thanks again x.”

The single is just the latest offering from the chart-topping boy band, who recently celebrated selling 12 million records in less than a year. So, what was included in the 12 million count? The boys sold eight million singles, three million albums and one million DVDs!

 And Live While We’re Young looks set to be a sure fire hit too, with fans showing huge support for the new song before it has even been played on the radio.
Niall took to Twitter to thank the die-hard 1D fans, writing: “The love for "live " is unbelievable! Thank you soo much every single one of u guys! We are stunned by it! Love you all soo much!”
The guys spent most of last week teasing news of their latest single, promising fans a “major announcement” before confirming the name of the track.
"We promised you that something exciting and big was going to happen this week in the 1D universe… you, the fans, have been craving new music and after months of hard work and effort the boys have delivered!!! Screams,” a message on their official website read.
“The awesome new single is called ‘Live While We’re Young’! The track will be hitting radio very soon, we will let you know as soon as it’s getting its first plays so keep an eye out for announcements…”
