Naeto C ft D'Banj- "Tony Montana Remix" Music video

Naeto C
Naeto C whose real name is NaetoChukwu Chikwe doesn't seem to be slowing down for anyone. One would have expected the newly married artist to take some time away from the music to handle his new status, sorry to burst your bubble, there's no sign of him slowing down.

He just completed his music video project for the remix of "Tony Montana" with ace musician D'Banj. The internet went agog when pictures of D'banj next to a Cheetah were released. The pictures were said to have been taken during the video shoot of Naeto C's remix to "Tony Montana".

Capital F.E.M.I- The Year Of R'n'B

Capital F.E.M.I

It's been almost three years now since Kennis Music artist- Capital F.E.M.I returned from the USA to establish himself as a force to be reckoned with in the Nigerian music industry.
It has also taken him that long to put together an album filled with one hour of some original straight up R&B.

Many have tried and failed to create an album which can hit a pass mark for R&B but failed due to the constant pressure to push sales hence infusing elements of afro-pop, high-life, street-hop and so on and diluting the music. Mr. Femi Adeyinka who's Gbenga Adeyinka's younger brother (Gbenga Adeyinka is a popular Nigerian comedian) has refused to compromise when it comes to good music and has given us a stellar 17 track LP filled with mid-tempo R&B love ballads.

Timaya "Bum Bum" vs PSquare's "Alingo"

Every radio station and club in Nigeria has put Timaya's "Bum Bum" on massive airplay and no one can deny that song rocks. Some people have even classified this song as an indication of Timaya's new image and direction, especially when you consider the Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa has cut off his dread locks.

Ghanaians are unappreciative people- DKB responds

Zainab and DKB- Big Brother Star Game

The management of Ghanaian comedian and TV personality DKB (Big Brother Star Game) has responded to an article which was published online earlier this week suggesting that the comedian claimed that Ghanaians do not appreciate their own comedians. Ecstasy Entertainment, management of DKB finds this article an attempt to defame DKB, whom people already want to vilify.

In a press statement released by the management company they commented:

“In their bid to depict DKB as a renegade, they used the title “DKB claims Ghanaians are unappreciable people” which is not only grammatically incorrect but also meant to sway Ghanaians into thinking he said they are unappreciative people. We want to state emphatically that he didn’t blatantly say it as it was reported but rather he had a hypothetical approach towards it.”

“What brought up this topic was a phone-in interview session by Angel Fm, Kumasi, during an entertainment discussion when DKB was called to give his opinion on why it seems Ghanaians do not support Ghanaian comedians but prefer their Nigerian counterparts. He replied saying most Ghanaians do not give new/upcoming comedians enough chance to show them what they can do but rather compare them to the best and already established Nigerian comedians, resulting in the conclusion that the Nigerian acts are better off than the Ghanaian ones."

Guest Spotlight- DC, Nigeria's Soft Rock/Pop Genius.

Let's paint a beautiful scenario where your fiance plans to pop the question during a candle light dinner. All's set and pretty much what you'd expect a romantic dinner to feel like. Conversations go on real nice, good background music and then he goes down on one knee... (cue song- DC's "Will You Marry Me?")

...and presents this to you.

Tange-ring

That should do the trick and a very sure move that will get a "Yes" any day any time; way better than presenting this other ring...

Ladies, what say ye?

For those of you who do not yet know, the song you just listened to "Marry Me" was done by a brilliant Nigerian, DC.

The 24-year old Delta state artist whose real name is  Donald Franklin Chukwuyem Isedeh, has already garnered fame within a short period of time. His single "Marry Me" has received more airplay in a short space of time than most artists that have been in the industry much longer than he has.
The third and last of his siblings, DC describes himself as friendly and funny but insists he's the last person you'd want to go along with to have a good time in the club. This is what he had to say concerning being the last child- "Being the last born can have its disadvantages! Like if anyone comes to the house and they realize I'm the last ,it just ruins my swag, especially if it's a girl".
Let me tell you a little secret (he's related to one of the most popular Nigerian on-air personalities. I'm talking about the beautiful and crazy Omalicha of Rhythm 93.7FM in Lagos).

NBC's New TV Series- Dracula

Jonathan Rhys Meyers
NBC Universal and Sky Living have announced they’ll be co-producing a 10-episode drama series of Dracula.  The Tudors' star Jonathan Rhys Meyers has been tapped to play the famous vampire in what the network’s president Robert Greenblatt dubbed a "new version of the classic Bram Stoker" tale.
The program doesn’t intend to create another modernization of a classic tale, instead it takes place in the 1890s and finds Dracula living a double life in London as an American businessman interested in bringing modern science to Victorian society. His true plan to exact revenge on those who burdened him centuries ago, however, is derailed when he falls in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.

BET Awards 2012: Highlights and Winners.

Samuel L Jackson and Spike Lee

With all the star power at the BET Awards – Kanye West, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce and Samuel L. Jackson, to name a few – the most stirring moment came not from a superstar, but from the mother of one.
Whitney Houston's mother, Cissy, provided the emotional highlight of Sunday's ceremony as she sang "Bridge Over Troubled Water" in tribute to her late daughter, leaving audience members like Beyonce and Soulja Boy in tears.

Cissy Houston

Mariah Carey opened the tribute with memories of her friend. She was followed by a moving number by Monica. Brandy, heavily influenced by Houston, sang two of the late singer's hits. Chaka Khan blazed the stage with "I'm Every Woman," which Houston remade. Gary Houston, Whitney's brother, also performed.
But the nearly four-hour BET Awards was more like the Bleep Awards, as entire segments of performances from Nicki Minaj to Rick Ross were muted out due to foul language. It started during the opening number by West's G.O.O.D. music group, which included Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz. There were long moments of censored silence when the rappers performed "Mercy," though not all the offending words were bleeped out. Moments later, Jackson, the show's host, was joined by Spike Lee as they did a comedic version of Jay-Z and West's hit song "... In Paris," to laughs. "Two distinguished Morehouse men," Lee joked after the performance, referencing the alma mater of the two.

News Corp Board Approves Publishing, Entertainment Business Split

June 28, 2012 From NDTV

The board of News Corp approved in principle splitting the $60 billion media conglomerate into separate publishing and entertainment businesses, a person familiar with the situation said on Thursday.

News Corp's board, overseen by chairman Rupert Murdoch, met on Wednesday and an announcement was expected later on Thursday on the decision to create two publicly traded companies, the source said, confirming a report in the Wall Street Journal.
Ever unpredictable, Murdoch, after years of resisting calls by some large shareholders to spin out or sell off the company's slow-growth - and in some cases, loss-making - newspapers, decided to propose the move rather suddenly.

Mercedes Benz SL 500

Let's get straight to the point; Mercedes's new SL is one of those cars that immediately feels right. Nothing to assimilate, or acclimatise to, simply an immediacy that speaks of engineers looking pleased with themselves and a hell of a lot of boxes ticked. The art of the unobtrusively useful. Mind you, it should be pretty well honed by now - the SL is 60 years old. Merc's had some time to get the recipe right.

How To: Buy A Custom-Made Shirt

At least once in his life, a man should have a dress shirt (or two -- or five) custom made. Of course, this endeavor tends to be an expensive one, so you might need to save up or wait for an appropriate occasion. As long as you engage the services of a reputable tailor, however, the unbeatable fit and the attention to detail that goes into making a shirt that suits you perfectly is well worth what you'll spend.

Unfortunately, not knowing where to start or what to expect can turn this otherwise unique experience rather sour -- and is likely to keep you from even trying it out to begin with.
That's why we consulted Marybeth Luber, CEO of indiTailored, a top-quality custom apparel maker, to give us the lowdown on how to buy a custom-made shirt.

Find a reputable tailor

To find a tailor that you can trust, begin by asking around in your circle of friends or at work among colleagues with sartorial savvy. After you've rounded up a few promising prospects, pay a visit to each tailor and ask to see samples of their work. Inquire about which fit and collar type would work best  for your body type and face. A good tailor should have no difficulty determining which style of shirt will meet your personal preferences for comfort and most flatter your bone structure, proportions and physique. Additionally, good tailors will always take your measurements, so if you come across one that doesn't offer this prerequisite as part of their routine service, keep looking.

Artist Spotlight: Liquideep (South Africa)

Left- Ziyon, Right- Ryzor
The Liquideep duo is made up of a Ziyon [singer/songwriter/producer] and Ryzor [DJ/producer], the two met as friends first in 2006 before their mutual love for hook-laden, melodically rich deep house music inspired the birth of Liquideep in 2007.
Ziyon who was originally in the States before he moved back officially to South Africa in 2004 started singing professionally when he was 19. He found himself in music circles and realized that he could take his passion to the next level. He started producing in 2001 for a lady called Swazi Dhlamini. He did tracks for Gloria Bosman, Loyiso Bala and other artistes.
Ryzor on the other hand was born in Alex, but grew up in Limpopo then moved back to Alex when he was older.
Just two years after their formation they caught the attention of the entire nation with the anthem ‘Fairytale’, which got play-listed on every major station in SA and received a SAMA 2010 nomination for Song of the Year.

Following their ‘Oscillations’ mix contribution to House Afrika Sessions Vol. 1, their debut artist album, ‘Fabrics Of The Heart’, was released with much fan fare in May 2010 selling in excess of 5000 copies in the first 5 days on the shelf. It turned out to have even more club-bangers with tracks like BBM, Angel, Settle for Less, Feel It and Still.
